Space X - Parade and Event Inflatables

American aerospace and space transportation company Space Exploration Technologies Corp. or SpaceX as it is more commonly known, designs, manufactures and launches ground-breaking reusable rockets. Their aim is to make space travel more affordable and eventually facilitate the human colonisation of Mars.

Every December the company rewards its hardworking employees with an impressive holiday party and festive parade of decorative vehicles through the public highways of Boca Chica, Texas. For the third-year running, SpaceX has entrusted Glow Inflatables Ltd with the design and supply of a variety of our custom inflatables for use at their famous annual celebrations.

The event delivered a fully immersive, visually spectacular environment that combined engineering ambition, creativity and family-friendly fun. As well as impressing SpaceX employees, the powerful impact of artistic inflatable spread far and wide with the return of the holiday parade.

This project stands as a testament to Glow’s expertise in large-scale custom inflatables, technical LED integration, and creative collaboration for global brands.

Working once again with the SpaceX team, Glow Inflatables delivered a series of bold, high impact and interactive inflatable installations that transformed the annual event into an immersive space-themed environment.

At the SpaceX Holiday Party and parade, our custom inflatables helped to bring SpaceX’s vision to life and ensured that the annual celebration was as inspiring as the company itself. From start to finish, this project was literally “Out of this world!”

To create an immediate and awe-inspiring focal point for the giant arena-based rave, Glow designed and manufactured the largest inflatable sphere the company has ever produced. Measuring an extraordinary 15 metres in diameter, the sphere nearly touched the roof of the vast warehouse during testing.

Designed to represent Mars, SpaceX’s ultimate destination, the sphere featured carefully recreated surface textures and was brought to life by an extensive internal LED system. When fully inflated, the installation glowed deep red from within, illuminating the planet’s surface and creating a dramatic, otherworldly presence that dominated the event space.

Another standout creation was a ten-metre-high, dinosaur-like inflatable creature, designed to grip a rocket booster in homage to SpaceX’s iconic launch-tower “grabber”. Complete with customised red LED eyes and a glowing booster, this bold and playful installation instantly captured the partygoers’ attention.

Affectionately nicknamed “Mechanzilla” by SpaceX employees, the inflatable quickly became a fan favourite and a powerful visual symbol of SpaceX’s engineering prowess and personality.

Glow also produced a six-metre-tall inflatable astronaut, dressed in an authentically replicated SpaceX uniform who stood proudly on top of a branded inflatable podium.

Joining Mechanzilla and the astronaut in the annual Holiday Parade through the highways of Boca Chica was a giant inflatable Starship, originally supplied by Glow the previous year, reinforcing continuity and brand recognition while elevating the scale of the display. This highly anticipated parade showcases SpaceX’s high-tech innovations and draws huge crowds from miles around who share the impressive spectacle on social media.

As a family-focused event, interactivity was key. Glow designed a bespoke inflatable space-themed slide, allowing guests to climb inside a towering rocket, move through an internal tunnel and slide back down to Earth. Adjacent to this attraction, a smaller bouncy castle ensured that younger visitors could safely join in the fun.

To further merge the themes of space exploration and celebration, Glow created a 12m x 12m hexagonal bouncer featuring protective walls and a detailed Mars landscape backdrop design. Whilst happily bouncing, revellers could imagine the sensation of weightlessness on the Red Planet.

To complete the experience, Glow supplied giant inflatable letters spelling out STARSHIP and STARLINK, reinforcing SpaceX’s groundbreaking technologies through bold, highly visible branding installations.
