The team at Glow Inflatables was proud to collaborate with our customer Kadan Productions to produce a spectacular installation for one of the world’s most prestigious fashion events – the Met Gala in New York.
Held annually at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Met Gala is renowned for its extravagant fashion, celebrity guest list and immersive event design. Each year, the event centres around a carefully curated theme, with every visual element working together to create a truly unforgettable atmosphere.
To complement the creative director Baz Luhrmann’s vision, Glow Inflatables created an impressive 8-metre illuminated moon which acted as the centrepiece of the event space. Suspended dramatically within the venue, the moon immediately captured attention and became a defining feature of the overall set design.
To ensure everything ran smoothly on-site, a Glow Air technician travelled to New York to oversee the installation process. Their expertise ensured the moon was installed safely, efficiently and exactly as envisaged for the event.
The moon also featured internal LED lighting, allowing it to create a theatrical ambiance for the celebrity guests, emitting a soft and atmospheric glow throughout the evening. As night fell, the illuminated structure looked particularly striking against the historic architecture of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, creating a dramatic focal point for guests and photographers alike. The ‘dazzling full moon’ was even featured in Vogue Magazine!
Prestigious projects like this demonstrate how bespoke inflatable structures can completely transform a venue and elevate an event experience. From large-scale centrepieces to supporting decorative features, Glow Inflatables continues to deliver creative solutions for high-profile productions around the world.
