This summer, music, art and atmosphere came together in spectacular harmony as world-renowned composer Max Richter brought his celebrated work ‘Sleep’ to Alexandra Palace, London for its 10th Anniversary show. Adding a celestial touch to the evening was a breath-taking 5-metre-diameter inflatable moon designed and built by Glow Inflatables Ltd.

‘Sleep’ is a unique concert experience that invites audiences to immerse themselves in an eight-hour journey of music, reflection and tranquillity. For such a performance, the visual setting is as important as the soundscape. The creative team needed a luminous moon welcoming the audience – a gentle, awe-inspiring reminder of time, space and the rhythms of nature. That’s where Glow Inflatables stepped in.

Our design team worked closely with the event producers to create an enormous, highly detailed inflatable moon that captured the surface texture and character of our nearest celestial neighbour, instilling a sense of serenity as visitors arrived for their unique experience.

Built from durable, lightweight materials, the moon provided a realistic, almost ethereal presence. The internal lighting transformed the moon into a glowing centrepiece, perfectly complementing Richter’s dreamlike music.

As the audience settled in for the overnight performance, the moon became a symbolic anchor for the concert’s themes of sleep, dreams, and cycles of time. Guests described the experience as “otherworldly” and “deeply moving,” with the glowing moon playing a central role in creating that immersive atmosphere.

This project reflects what we do best: transforming creative visions into inflatable reality. Whether it’s a giant branded installation, a one-of-a-kind stage prop, or a bold centrepiece for a live event, our inflatables are designed to inspire awe and spark imagination.
