We are proud to announce Glow Inflatables’ recent collaboration with internationally acclaimed artist Ryan Gander, for his installation at the 257th Summer Exhibition at the Royal Academy of Arts in London. Installed by our experienced team, the show features a series of five 3-metre inflatable spheres positioned across the courtyard and mounted on the building.

The five massive black spheres are emblazoned with thought-provoking questions such as “Will time tell?”, “How much is a lot?” and “What do animals dream of?” playfully inviting adults to reconnect with a childlike sense of wonder.

Gander’s work deliberately plays with scale within the environment. Some spheres lie grounded like oversized toys, while others peek from hidden corners of the building itself, encouraging viewers to see both the courtyard and the stunning architecture through fresh eyes.

The Royal Academy is one of the world’s most revered institutions of arts and culture. Gander’s tenure as a Royal Academician (RA) and his OBE for services to contemporary art underline the cultural significance of this exhibition.

This prestigious outdoor commission follows our extensive portfolio of inflatable artworks featured in leading galleries and museums worldwide. From immersive indoor gallery shows to rooftop artworks, we’ve partnered with innovative artists and institutions to bring sculptural inflatables to diverse settings and now, the courtyard of the Royal Academy.

Glow Inflatables congratulates Ryan Gander and the Royal Academy team on this spectacular, boundary-pushing installation. We’re thrilled to see our inflatables contribute to an experience that delights viewers and elevates the spirit of inquiry in one of London’s most cherished cultural landmarks.

Glow Inflatables Ltd are experts in providing crafted sculptural spheres and shapes that complement contemporary art narratives. Our site-specific installations can be found in museums and cultural centres around the world, showcasing our ability to work at any scale.
