At Glow Inflatables Ltd, our heart lies in creating physical installations that spark a sense of wonder so when our long-standing partner, Objects of Common Interest, asked us to supply some custom artistic inflatables were more than happy to oblige.
We’ve teamed up with Objects of Common Interest for over six years, bringing their visionary designs to life across some of the world’s most prestigious art events. This time we created some elegant little pillars and a dome for an architectural design project in Chicago.
The collection of inflatable pillars invites people to gather and sit on the subtly shifting structure whilst the dome overhead creates an ethereal canopy. The gently iridescent inflatables are subtle yet striking in their form and finish. These are more than mere props: they’re architectural statements. They provide ambiance, define space, and invite interaction.
We selected materials that balance translucency, strength and ease of inflation whilst engineering anchoring systems to ensure stability in high-traffic settings. High quality finishes were applied to ensure light plays beautifully across dome and pillars.
The team at Glow coordinated the logistics so that installation at the architecture biennial was delivered on time and the forms were inflated ready for the event.
We’re excited to see where Objects of Common Interest take these inflatable elements next. Whether it’s a new series of pillars, a massive overhead dome or an entirely fresh shape, Glow will be there to meet the demands of any event and exceed the expectations of the customer and their audience.
