At Glow Inflatables, we love creating installations that bring a sense of fun, spectacle and celebration to public events and our recent project for Nottingham City Council did exactly that.
This June, we supplied a trio of custom inflatable ducks to help mark the opening of a new pedestrian and cycle bridge over the River Trent in Nottingham. The custom inflatables became a playful centrepiece for the celebrations, drawing attention to the new bridge and adding a memorable visual moment to the event.

The team at Glow created three inflatable ducks: one large 5-metre ‘mother’ duck accompanied by two baby ducks measuring 1 metre each. Once inflated, the ducks were securely attached to boats and paraded along the river, creating a cheerful and eye-catching display for the many visitors who had gathered to celebrate the opening of Waterside Bridge.

The combination of one oversized duck with two smaller baby ducks gave the installation a charming sense of character, helping to create a light-hearted atmosphere while making the activation highly visible from across the riverside.

It was a simple concept with strong visual impact, perfectly suited to a public opening event designed to bring people together and making the most of the waterside setting.

For Glow Inflatables, the Nottingham duck installation showcased how inflatable props can be adapted to unusual environments – in this case, floating on the river as part of a live civic event.
By combining scale, character and movement, the final installation delivered something playful, photogenic and perfectly suited to the occasion.
